Structural Engineer | Temporary Works | Sydney
I’m working with a large, highly regarded Australian engineering consultancy looking for a Structural Engineer to join their Temporary Works team in Sydney.
They’ve got a particularly strong reputation in structures, work on some of the biggest and most complex projects around Australia and have some seriously good structural engineers to learn from.
This role is heavily connected to construction and how things actually get built.
The work covers temporary structures, propping, bracing, formwork, lifting, demolition sequencing and solving structural problems that come up during construction.
You’ll work closely with builders and contractors, spend time on site and engineer practical solutions that need to work in the real world.
What they’re looking for
- Structural / Civil Engineering degree
- Ideally 3+ years’ structural engineering experience
- Temporary works experience would be great, but isn’t essential
- Strong structural engineering fundamentals
- Practical mindset and comfortable working with contractors and site teams
- Equally open to a good structural design engineer wanting to move into temporary works
It’s a positive opportunity for someone who enjoys structures but wants to get closer to construction, site and the practical side of engineering. If you’re already doing temporary works, or you’re a Structural Engineer who thinks this sounds more interesting than another traditional building design role, get in touch. Marc Hammond on 0402 413 428.
