NDIS Support Worker – Social & Community Participation
Location: Chermside, QLD
Employment Type: Casual
Pay Rate: As per SCHADS Award and experience
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and culturally sensitive NDIS Support Worker to support a 66-year-old NDIS participant with social and community participation activities.
The successful candidate will assist the participant in engaging with their local community, attending appointments, participating in recreational activities, and maintaining social connections to enhance independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
While Vietnamese-speaking candidates are preferred, we welcome applications from all suitable candidates who can communicate effectively and build a positive rapport with the participant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to a 66-year-old NDIS participant.
- Assist with social and community participation activities.
- Support attendance at community events, social outings, and recreational activities.
- Accompany the participant to appointments when required.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and active community engagement.
- Provide companionship and emotional support in a respectful and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting as required.
- Adhere to all NDIS Practice Standards, company policies, and duty of care requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting and respectful relationships.
- Understanding of person-centred support practices.
- Ability to effectively manage and respond to challenging behaviours using a calm, patient, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach.
- Full working rights in Australia.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to speak Vietnamese.
- Previous experience supporting older participants or individuals with disability.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and community support services.
- Experience facilitating social and community participation supports.
Vietnamese language skills are preferred but not essential. Candidates who can effectively communicate and build rapport with a participant who has limited English are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $40.00 – $48.00 per hour
