Orivet Genetic Pet Care provides DNA testing and genetic screening for breeders, pet owners and veterinary professionals, turning complex genetic information into practical insights for responsible breeding and better animal health.
We’re seeking an experienced Customer Support & Systems Coordinator to independently manage customer enquiries while confidently navigating the systems, samples and data behind them. You’ll support breeders and veterinary clinic partners across phone, email and live chat — assisting with orders, sample progress, results and account information — and work alongside our laboratory team to keep samples moving accurately through the testing workflow.
This is an office-based role at our St Kilda site, with some flexibility to work from home by arrangement.
What you’ll do
Customer support
- Resolve enquiries promptly, accurately and with empathy
- Explain genetic reports and technical information clearly and practically
- Locate, verify and update customer, sample and results records
Sample accessioning & batching
- Accession incoming samples, checking submission forms and matching samples to customer records
- Batch samples for testing and track their progress through the laboratory workflow
- Investigate and resolve non-activated, incomplete or mismatched submissions
- Coordinate with logistics on incoming and outgoing sample movement
Systems & collaboration
- Coordinate across customer care, laboratory, logistics and IT teams in Australia and overseas
- Maintain data accuracy, spot recurring issues and suggest improvements
What you’ll bring
- Proven customer service experience (support, contact centre or account-based)
- Confidence working independently and owning enquiries to resolution
- Strong systems capability — Microsoft 365, plus databases, CRM or ticketing platforms
- Comfort with detailed, process-driven work where accuracy directly affects the result a customer receives
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong organisation and attention to detail
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
Experience in animal health, veterinary, laboratory, scientific or other data-driven settings will be highly regarded, as will an interest in companion animal genetics, breeding or pet care.
Why Orivet?
Purpose-led work contributing to healthier animals, a varied role spanning customers, samples, systems and process improvement, collaboration with teams across Australia and internationally, and real scope for judgement and initiative.
