About the role

As the Tavern Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of our vibrant hospitality venue in the Williamstown Maritime Precinct. In this Casual role, you will play a vital part in delivering an exceptional experience for our guests and ensuring the ongoing success of our business.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar and restaurant, ensuring all customer service, food and beverage service, and cleaning standards are consistently met

- Lead, motivate and develop a team of hospitality professionals, providing coaching and training to drive performance and foster a positive work environment

- Oversee stock control, inventory management and ordering to maintain optimal product levels and minimise waste

- Analyse sales data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective strategies

- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

- Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders

- Participate in the planning and execution of special events and promotions

About you

- Significant experience (3+ years) in a similar bar and restaurant management role, preferably within a busy hospitality environment

- Strong leadership and team management skills,



with the ability to motivate and develop staff

- Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills

- Thorough understanding of bar and restaurant operations, including inventory management

- Knowledge of relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

- Qualifications in hospitality management or a related field would be highly regarded

About us The Pirates Tavern is a unique bar and music venue that offers a welcoming atmosphere and stunning views of Hobsons Bay located on the Williamstown waterfront. As part of the Williamstown Maritime Association (WMA), this not-for-profit establishment has been preserving the old Port of Melbourne Authority site since 2004. The WMA was set up to establish a working maritime precinct, Seaworks, on the old Port of Melbourne Authority site in Melbourne's historic port of Williamstown.
