Teacher Assistant | Casual Relief (Pre-Prep)

Somerset College is seeking caring, enthusiastic and proactive Teacher Assistants to join our Pre-Prep relief.

Working alongside experienced Early Childhood educators, you will support children in a vibrant play-based learning environment where relationships, belonging and wellbeing are at the centre of every day.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young children, value teamwork and take initiative to create positive learning experiences.

About the Role

- Support children in learning and play experiences
- Work collaboratively with teachers to create engaging learning environments
- Assist with routines, transitions and daily classroom activities
- Foster children's independence, confidence and wellbeing
- Support the preparation of learning materials and resources
- Contribute to a safe, caring and inclusive environment
- Assist with supervision duties, excursions and special events as required

- Genuinely enjoy working with young children
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Are warm, approachable and personable
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Show initiative and proactively support classroom needs
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and professionalism
- Are adaptable and comfortable working in a variety of learning environments
- Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Essential Requirements





- Certificate III, Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
- Current Blue Card or ability to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (HLTAID012 preferred), or willingness to obtain
- Availability to work on a casual basis
