Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Passfield Park School is a K–12 School for Specific Purposes with an enrolment of 102 students with moderate to severe intellectual disability and a diverse range of additional learning needs. Approximately 75% of students come from a language background other than English (LBOTE). Our vision, Together we thrive. Inclusive. Innovative. Communication and access to quality learning are central to our work. We maintain high expectations for every student and provide personalised, meaningful and engaging learning experiences that promote student voice, independence and participation.

Innovation is embedded across teaching and learning, with a focus on evidence-informed practice, explicit teaching, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE). Staff work collaboratively and engage in ongoing professional learning to respond to the diverse and changing needs of our students.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with moderate/severe intellectual disability. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, work collaboratively within a supportive school culture to empower student voice, independence, learning and wellbeing.

Willingness to respond to the diverse and changing needs of students and the school community, with an innovative approach to teaching and learning, including explicit teaching, Universal Design for Learning and High Potential and Gifted Education.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
