Key Position Expectations
n
Customer Growth and Relationships
n
n
- Own the branch customer experience and act as the senior escalation point for service issues.
n
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, overseas offices and agent partners.
n
- Work with Commercial to protect existing revenue, develop new opportunities and exceed growth targets.
n
- Ensure major accounts have clear account management and customer service ownership.
n
- Maintain a credible, current sales pipeline in Dynamics and convert opportunities into profitable business.
n
n
Operational Leadership
n
n
- Lead day-to-day branch operations and hold department managers accountable for service, productivity and results.
n
- Ensure import, export, customs, transport and warehouse activities are timely, compliant and cost-effective.
n
- Set, monitor and improve local and global operational performance measures.
n
- Provide the tools, equipment, capacity and skills required for secure, efficient and quality-focused delivery.
n
- Resolve non-conformance quickly and drive practical continuous improvement.
n
n
Financial Performance
n
n
- Own the branch profit and loss result and exceed monthly budget targets.
n
- Control operating costs, resources and revenue allocation with strong financial discipline.
n
- Review and act on revenue, gross profit, work in progress, accrued cost, pipeline, debtor and key performance reports.
n
- Ensure strong debtor governance and decisive action on overdue or problem accounts.
n
- Translate financial results into clear actions for department managers and senior leadership.
n

People Leadership
n
n
- Lead, coach and empower direct reports while setting the standard for the entire branch.
n
- Build a culture of accountability,
collaboration, high performance and respectful challenge.
n
- Manage workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance, development, retention and succession with Human Resources support.
n
- Address conduct, capability and morale issues early, fairly and consistently.
n
n
Compliance, Systems and Governance
n
n
- Ensure full compliance with the DSV Operational Blueprint, standard operating procedures, policies and delegated authorities.
n
- Maintain current knowledge of customs, freight forwarding, licensing, certification and other regulatory requirements.
n
- Drive disciplined use and accurate data in CargoWise One, Dynamics and other company systems.
n
- Ensure customer, operational and financial records are complete, current and audit-ready.
n
- Act promptly on audit findings, control gaps and operational risks.
n
n
Key Criteria
n
n
- Proven leadership experience in international freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain operations, with at least five years of relevant experience.
n
- Strong Western Australian freight market knowledge and established customer and supplier networks.
n
- Commercial capability across business development, customer management, budgets and profit delivery.
n
- Demonstrated success leading people, improving performance and managing change.
n
- Strong knowledge of international trade, customs, compliance and operational controls.
n
- Confident use of logistics, customer and business systems; CargoWise One experience is highly regarded.
n
- Clear communication, sound judgement, resilience and the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders.
