A leadership role is only as good as the leader you get to work with.

We’re looking for a Proficient (or above) NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner ready to step into a genuine leadership role in South East Queensland.

And by leadership, we actually mean leadership.

Around 70-80% of your role will be focused on leading, mentoring and developing practitioners , with a reduced caseload so you can stay clinically connected without trying to squeeze leadership in around a full billable workload.

You’ll report directly to our Queensland State Manager, Kylie Riseley , a respected leader within the Queensland and Tasmanian disability sector. Kylie and the Queensland team have received a number of nominations and awards for excellence in Allied Health and Disability Support over the past 12 months - recognition that reflects what’s happening on the ground.

Kylie is also working alongside our Psychology team to develop Transform Life’s Complex Care service , supporting people with significant mental health needs, forensic or justice-system involvement, high-risk behaviours and situations where existing supports may be at risk of breaking down.

You’ll be joining a strong, established Queensland team and working alongside Kylie to keep raising the bar.

Ideally, you’ll be based in Brisbane, Northern Gold Coast, Logan or Ipswich , although we’re flexible on this.

What you’ll actually be doing

Leadership & team development | approx. 70-80%

You’ll help lead a geographically spread team of Behaviour Support Practitioners working remotely and in their local communities.

You’ll be responsible for

- Providing clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching
- Supporting practitioners with complex cases and clinical decision-making
- Reviewing Behaviour Support Plans and providing useful, practical feedback
- Supporting onboarding, capability development and practitioner growth
- Keeping a remote team connected, engaged and operating as one team

- Having the constructive conversations good leadership sometimes requires
- Working closely with Kylie to maintain and continue lifting an already strong standard of practice

You won’t be expected to have all the answers. You’ll also be part of our broader national Behaviour Support leadership team, with experienced people around you when the complicated cases inevitably arrive. Clinical practice | approx. 20-30%

You’ll maintain a reduced caseload , continuing to work directly with participants, families and support teams so you remain connected to frontline practice.

The kind of leader we’re looking for

Qualifications and capability matter. So does how people experience working with you.

You’ll probably do well here if you:

- Take initiative and follow things through
- Give clear, constructive feedback and handle difficult conversations well
- Stay calm when cases become complex and help others do the same
- Give people autonomy while remaining accessible when they need support
- Care about developing good clinicians, not simply managing KPIs
- Understand the importance of good process and documentation
- Enjoy being part of a team while being comfortable working independently from home
- Are happy to travel occasionally to support your team or attend events

What you’ll need

- Proficient or higher registration as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Experience mentoring, supervising or leading others
- Strong Behaviour Support assessment, planning and implementation capability
- Experience across disability, mental health, education, corrections or another relevant setting
- Relevant tertiary qualifications

You don’t need to be actively looking for a recent role to have a conversation. If you’re an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner thinking about leadership, or you’re already leading people and want to do it somewhere that genuinely gives you the time to lead, we’d love to connect.

Express your interest today, or for a confidential conversation contact Sally on 0405 738 220.
