Team Leader – Disability Services | NDIS
Inclusive Solutions Australia (ISA Group) Location: Logan, QLD
Employment Type: Full-Time
Sector: Disability Services | NDIS | Leadership
Lead People. Manage Priorities. Make Things Happen.
Inclusive Solutions Australia (ISA Group) is a growing NDIS provider delivering individualised supports across South East Queensland. Based in Logan, we are looking for a highly capable Team Leader to take ownership of a caseload of participants and the support teams around them.
This is a busy, varied leadership role combining participant coordination, staff leadership, stakeholder management, compliance, administration and problem-solving. Our Team Leaders are responsible for making sure supports are organised, documentation is current, staff are performing effectively, risks are managed and important actions don’t fall through the cracks.
We need someone who can manage their time exceptionally well, prioritise competing demands and work with a high level of independence and accountability.
Just as importantly, you need to be confident navigating the NDIS and understanding how the NDIA operates. You should be comfortable working with NDIS plans, funded supports, Support Coordinators and other stakeholders, and understand the responsibilities and boundaries of a registered provider.
If you’re someone who sees what needs to be done, organises it and follows it through, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and quality of supports across your participant caseload, including:
- Leading, mentoring and providing clear direction to Disability Support Workers
- Building strong professional relationships with participants and understanding their goals, needs, risks and preferences
- Understanding participant NDIS plans and ensuring supports are delivered appropriately within funded supports and service agreements
- Coordinating participant supports and ensuring services remain responsive to participant needs and goals
- Maintaining accurate and current participant documentation, including support plans, risk assessments, emergency plans and other operational records
- Monitoring case notes, incident reports, behaviour documentation and staff compliance
- Reviewing rosters, shift changes, clock-ins and shift approvals and following up discrepancies promptly
- Responding to incidents, participant concerns, staffing issues and unexpected changes
- Coordinating participant appointments, meetings, reviews and follow-up actions
- Liaising professionally with families, Support Coordinators, guardians, allied health professionals, plan managers and other stakeholders
- Contributing relevant information and evidence for NDIS reviews, changes in circumstances and other participant planning processes
- Monitoring participant risks and escalating safeguarding, behavioural, health and service-delivery concerns appropriately
- Supporting the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans, allied health recommendations and participant strategies
- Coaching staff around professional boundaries, documentation, participant engagement and quality support delivery
- Working closely with management, compliance, HR, rostering and administration teams
- Ensuring deadlines, follow-ups and agreed actions are completed without requiring repeated reminders
- Keeping participant files, systems and records organised, current and audit-ready
- Identifying gaps, inconsistencies and emerging issues and taking ownership of resolving them.
Time Management Is Critical
This role involves multiple participants, staff, stakeholders, deadlines and competing priorities at the same time. Strong time management isn’t a nice-to-have – it’s essential.
You will need to confidently plan your workload, manage your calendar, meet deadlines and distinguish between what is urgent, what is important and what can wait.
Your day may change quickly. An incident might require immediate attention, a staff member may become unavailable, a stakeholder may need a response, documentation may be due and scheduled participant work still needs to be completed.
We need someone who can reprioritise without losing track of everything else.
You should be comfortable working autonomously, maintaining accurate task lists and records, following matters through to completion and communicating early if something genuinely cannot be achieved within the required timeframe.
The Person We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines strong people skills with exceptional organisation, administration and NDIS knowledge. You will be someone who:
- Has excellent time management and can independently structure a busy workload
- Is highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion
- Doesn’t need to be repeatedly reminded about deadlines or outstanding actions
- Notices when something doesn’t look right and investigates it
- Can think on their feet and make sensible decisions when circumstances change
- Knows what they can resolve themselves and what needs to be escalated
- Has strong attention to detail and can identify inconsistencies in documentation, rosters and support delivery
- Has a strong working knowledge of the NDIS and NDIA and understands how the scheme operates in practice
- Understands NDIS plans, funding categories, service agreements, provider responsibilities and the roles of key stakeholders
- Can communicate confidently with Support Coordinators, plan managers, allied health professionals, nominees, guardians and other NDIS stakeholders
- Is confident working across multiple digital systems
- Writes transparent, accurate and professional emails, reports and participant documentation
- Can provide clear direction and have respectful but firm conversations when expectations aren’t being met
- Remains calm,
practical and solutions-focused when things don’t go to plan
- Understands that quality disability support requires both strong relationships and robust systems.
What You’ll Bring
For this role, we are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS environment
- Strong practical knowledge of the NDIS, NDIA processes and how participant supports operate within the scheme
- An understanding of NDIS plans, funding, provider obligations and the broader network of stakeholders involved in participant supports
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Service Coordinator, Support Coordinator or comparable leadership/coordination role
- Experience supervising, coaching and providing direction to frontline staff
- Strong knowledge of person-centred and trauma-informed practice
- A sound understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding, incident management and participant risk
- High-level administrative and computer skills
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities with minimal supervision
- Confidence learning and working across multiple digital systems; experience with ShiftCare, ELMO and Microsoft 365 or similar platforms is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or a related field are highly regarded.
You will also need to hold, or be able to obtain, the relevant worker screening and compliance requirements for the role, including:
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Working with Children / Blue Card where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR
Why Join ISA?
