CEA is seeking an experienced Technical Capability and Quality Specialist to strengthen technical capability, consistency and quality across our national network.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled trade professional who is passionate about developing others, solving complex technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with branch teams, OEMs and internal stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership, support complex diagnostics, develop and deliver training programs,
contribute to quality assurance activities, and help build the next generation of industry talent through apprentice development and coaching.
About The Role
Reporting to the National Technical Capability and Quality Manager, you will:
- Provide specialist technical support and escalation assistance across CEA's national branch network.
- Diagnose and support the resolution of complex hydraulic, mechanical and electrical machine faults.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver technical training programs, assessments and capability pathways.
- Support apprentice development through mentoring, coaching and structured learning initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, guides and training materials.
- Conduct quality assurance activities, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with OEMs and internal stakeholders to improve technical outcomes and product knowledge.
- Analyse technical trends and identify opportunities to improve capability, quality and operational performance.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification (Certificate III Mechanical or equivalent) within earthmoving, heavy vehicle, agricultural equipment or a similar industry.
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience in mobile plant, heavy equipment or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems and interpret technical schematics.
- Experience developing and delivering technical training programs and assessments.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including the ability to develop training materials, reports and technical documentation.
- Solid communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally as required.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent.
- Experience supporting apprentices and competency-based learning programs.
- Experience in quality assurance, auditing or continuous improvement environments.
- Exposure to OEM technical support, warranty or engineering functions.
