The Opportunity Bhagwan Marine is a proud national Australian marine services company who provide a diverse range of marine solutions within Ports, Nearshore, Offshore and Subsea locations. Our West Australian operation is looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team, with the successful candidate able to work from either our Perth CBD head office or our Dampier office.

Reporting to the National Technical Manager, you’ll oversee the maintenance and compliance of a dedicated fleet, ensuring alignment with Class, regulatory, and survey standards. You’ll be part of a cooperative, solutions-focused team that values initiative, precision, and results.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and technical direction to Vessel Engineers, fostering a high-performing team focused on safety, reliability and operational excellence.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate maintenance activities, dry dockings, and major engineering projects to ensure safe, cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Maintain technical policies, procedures and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Company Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Ensure vessels effectively utilise and comply with the Company's Computerised Planned Maintenance System (HELM), maintaining planned maintenance compliance and accurate reporting.
- Prepare, manage and monitor vessel maintenance budgets and forecasts, including refits and dry-docking activities.




- Review and approve engineering purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring technical suitability, cost control, and procurement compliance.
- Manage vessel certification requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with Class, Flag State, AMSA and other applicable statutory regulations.
- Manage assigned fleet assets in accordance with Class Survey requirements regulatory standards and statutory obligations. Including the planning and execution of Class and Flag State surveys.

What we're looking for

- Strong understanding of ISM, ISO, Class, AMSA, and other relevant maritime regulations.
- Experience with vessel maintenance management and planned maintenance systems (HELM preferred).
- Proven ability to manage vessel surveys, repairs, dockings, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with crews, suppliers, contractors and regulatory bodies.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar marine technical management role.
- Experience managing commercial vessel fleets and dry-docking projects.

Essential Qualifications

- Marine Engineering or equivalent trade qualification
