IP Australia's Temporary Employment & APS Mobility Register is used to fill short term temporary employment opportunities. It also allows current APS employees to express their interest in mobility opportunities with IP Australia.

IP Australia is a unique and cutting-edge Australian Government Agency that works with Australians to help them protect their inventions, brands, designs, and plant varieties through the administration of patents, trade marks, designs, and plant breeder’s rights: their Intellectual Property (IP). We have a strong sense of purpose, ensuring Australians benefit from great ideas.

The Temporary Employment & APS Mobility Register is looking to attract a range of people with a range of skills. If joining our Agency is of interest to you, we encourage you to submit an application. We will use our register to fill vacancies in two ways:

1. To fill temporary employment opportunities at all levels, and
2. To offer temporary or permanent employment opportunities to current APS employees.

The duration of employment can range from several weeks up to 12 months. You can find details of our salary and conditions of engagement in the IP Australia Enterprise Agreement.

When you complete your registration you will be asked to provide some general information about yourself. If you need any assistance or have any questions please contact our Recruitment Solutions team via [email protected].

Please note: completing the Temporary Employment & Mobility Register application form registers your interest only and does not guarantee an offer of employment.

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).

All applicants who are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check involves reviewing your background & personal circumstances to minimise risks in giving access to IP Australia information/resources. This screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.

The successful applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information.

IP Australia embraces flexibility, including hours and location. Most of our roles can be done from anywhere in Australia, as long as you have reliable internet connection and an appropriate office set-up. We have offices in Canberra (Ngunnawal Country) and Melbourne (Naarm) for employees who are located within a reasonable distance to the office and most employees work a mixture of days in the office and days from home. Employees who are not located near an office, work completely remotely.

IP Australia acknowledges that those with diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds enhance our workplace and our capability for innovation. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People, People with Disability and LGBTIQA+ people are encouraged to apply for any advertised position, that they may be suitable for, within IP Australia.
