As our #AAA team continues to grow, we're looking for a Psychosocial/Mental Health Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast region, with the flexibility to work close to home.
In this role, you'll empower and advocate for people living with psychosocial disability and mental health challenges. Using a recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, you'll support participants to achieve their goals, build independence, and enhance their wellbeing. You will:
- Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
- Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
- Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
- Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
