Location: Multiple Locations Across Australia (Regional, Rural, and Remote Communities

Job Type: Locum (Versatile blocks ranging from 2-week placements to multi-month rotations)

Rates: Premium locum daily rates up to $2,000+ per day (dependent on location, remoteness, and VMO/on-call commitments)

ABOUT THE ROLES

Rewarding locum opportunities are available for experienced General Practitioners within Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) across regional, rural, and remote Australia.

These positions focus on providing culturally safe, comprehensive primary care within multidisciplinary teams alongside Aboriginal Health Workers, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals.

CLINICAL FOCUS AREAS:

- Chronic disease management (diabetes, cardiovascular health, renal health, respiratory care)

- Culturally responsive primary health assessments and health checks (715 health checks)





- Acute primary care presentation management in remote community settings

- Child and maternal health health programs

- Collaborative team-based care working directly with Aboriginal Health Practitioners

- Optional: Mixed GP/Emergency hospital VMO cover for remote sites with local health service facilities

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- General & Specialist registration with AHPRA (FRACGP / FACRRM or Equivalent)
- Proven experience in Australian General Practice (Emergency Medicine / VMO capabilities like FARGP or JCCA are highly regarded for rural roles).
- Cultural Safety: Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to delivering culturally safe healthcare to First Nations patients.
- Clinical Experience: Strong background in Australian general practice and chronic disease management. Experience in Indigenous health settings or rural medicine is highly regarded.
