About the role

The Senior Aboriginal Intensive Family Support Worker (50D) provides high-level case management expertise and practice leadership across all aspects of service delivery, including the common entry point, referrals, screening and assessment, and the provision of targeted supports for Aboriginal Families and Children engaged with the Intensive Family Support Service. Operating from a strengths-based, culturally secure, and relationship-focused approach, this role supports families to build capacity, strengthen parenting, and improve safety and wellbeing through responsive case management and direct intervention, including in-home support.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain an active case load as directed by the Line Manager

- Support staff to provide one to one intervention based on the family's needs and goals through intensive therapeutic interventions

- Support staff to work within Trauma Informed Practice Principles and Wadjak Northsides Therapeutic Intervention Model of care

- Support staff to develop and monitor assessments and case plans for service users including case reviews and safety planning in line with the Service User Journey

- Ensure appropriate therapeutic and/or community and government support services are provided to service users either directly or by referral

- Identify, assess and respond to safety concerns of service users in line with Wadjak Northside incident management procedures

- Provide intense intervention support to service users through trauma informed practice, person-centred and strengths-based strategies

- Participate and lead Multidisciplinary Stakeholder meetings as required

- Maintain timely, accurate and comprehensive records of intervention including assessment and case notes

- Participate in and provide regular Supervision,



both individually and within a group, as directed by the Line Manager

About you

- Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to staff and service users that are evidence-based

- Experience working with service users who are considered at risk or are presenting with complex issues

- Experience and knowledge in working with diverse cultures and communities

- Experience in case work and leadership practice within the community service or health sectors

- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills

- Good administrative, recording and case management documentation skills with experience using online platforms and Microsoft Office suit

- Demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible and work autonomously where required

- Driver's Licence

- Ability to obtain and Department of Communities 395 clearance

- Working with Children Check (WWCC)

- National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months

Wadjak Northside is a partner organization operating the Intensive Family Support Service in Joondalup and Mirrabooka. The service delivers high-level case management expertise and practice leadership across all aspects of service delivery for Aboriginal Families and Children, operating from a strengths-based, culturally secure, and relationship-focused approach.

This is an Aboriginal Identified position and is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
