The Company
Our client is a well-established NFP organisation within the community health space, known for its work supporting local communities and vulnerable groups. They are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Officer to build and maintain relationships across local community networks, schools and advocacy groups, raising awareness of their services. This is a temporary role with an immediate start, until July 2027.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with local community groups, schools, libraries and advocacy organisations
- Representing the organisation at community expos and events to raise awareness and build new connections
- Engaging confidently and compassionately with people from diverse cultural, social and ability backgrounds, including people with disabilities or medical conditions
- Making outbound calls and conducting outreach to introduce the organisation's services and generate interest
- Encouraging community networks to pass information on to unpaid carers and relevant groups
- Supporting program and stakeholder engagement activities across the community
- Updating and maintaining accurate records in the CRM/database
- Providing general administrative support to the wider team
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- 3+ years' experience in a community engagement, outreach or stakeholder-facing role within the NFP, community services, education, disability or youth sectors
- A genuine background in youth work, community development,
social work or disability support (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience building and sustaining relationships with schools, community groups or advocacy organisations
- Confidence engaging with a wide range of people, in person and over the phone
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot (desirable)
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a flexible, fast-moving environment
