Our client is a well-established international organisation seeking a Japanese Speaking Finance Manager to oversee finance operations and support key business functions including compliance, payroll, ERP implementation, and office administration.

This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence business performance while working closely with local and overseas stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Manage all accounting and finance functions, including month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare monthly, half-yearly and annual financial reports
- Maintain general ledger reconciliations and effective internal controls
- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships and financing arrangements
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting and business operations
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting, taxation and statutory requirements
- Prepare and coordinate BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT and Corporate Income Tax obligations
- Liaise with external advisors regarding transfer pricing and Pillar Two requirements
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
- Lead ERP implementation and ongoing system optimisation initiatives
- Take ownership of ERP operations, process improvements and user training
- Coordinate project stakeholders and ensure successful delivery of ERP milestones
- Oversee payroll processing, superannuation and payroll tax compliance
- Support employee onboarding, offboarding and HR administration activities
- Manage general office administration and coordinate external IT support providers

Requirements

- CA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification




- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Accounting role
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing financial reports, managing compliance obligations and cash flow forecasting
- Experience with ERP systems, with implementation project experience highly regarded
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a small business setting
- Business-level Japanese and English language skills
- Experience working with Japanese companies or multinational organisations will be highly regarded
