MNS Interiors Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our team in Canberra, ACT. This is a full-time position based in our Canberra ACT location. As a Commercial Carpenter, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality carpentry solutions for our commercial projects. This position is central to maintaining our reputation for excellence and precision in the commercial carpentry sector, working on diverse projects that require both technical expertise and attention to detail.
What you'll be doing
- Constructing, installing and finishing structures, fixtures and fittings for commercial properties
- Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Measuring, and cutting materials using hand tools and power equipment
- Installing partitions, ceilings, doors, and windows in a commercial environment
- Ensuring all work meets building codes, safety standards and client specifications
- Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors and other tradespeople to maintain project timelines
- Maintaining tools and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency on site
- Troubleshooting issues and making necessary adjustments to ensure quality outcomes
What we're looking for
- Completed carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent formal training and qualification in carpentry
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience working as a commercial carpenter on medium to large-scale projects
- Proficiency with both hand tools and power tools commonly used in commercial carpentry
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations and Australian carpentry standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications accurately
- Excellent measurement and mathematical skills to ensure precision in all work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights where required
- Reliable, professional attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current driver's licence and ability to transport tools and materials as needed
- Valid working with children check (if required for the project scope)
- Preferred: Experience with commercial fit-outs and carpentry work
