The team at Maxima are seeking an Animal Noise Response Officer to join the team based in Kingston. In this initial 6-month Local Council position, you will work 5 days out of 7 with a casual hourly pay of $39.00 + penalties as required. Possibility of extension for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints regarding barking and animal noise nuisance
- Collect clear, factual, and impartial evidence while ensuring natural justice
- Conduct property history checks and determine appropriate enforcement actions
- Monitor properties using audio recording devices (e.g., Noise Net) and analyse data
- Provide advice to owners on reducing noise nuisance and allow reasonable compliance timeframes
- Prepare neighbourhood surveys and manage community expectations
- Promote and support responsible pet ownership across the City
To Be Successful:
- Proven ability to conduct investigations and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant legislation, local laws, Council policies, plans and programs
- Strong communication and organisational time management skills
- Adaptable, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach
- Proven conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work with animals of all behaviour types
- Strong investigation and negotiation skills
Licenses and Certificates:
- Current C class drivers license
- Cert IV in Government Investigations or similar highly regarded
