Procurement Internship | Hilton Foods
Starting 23rd November 2026 - 19th February 2027
Get hands-on. Work with suppliers. Find opportunities to save.
Looking for an internship where you can put your analytical and communication skills to work in a real business?
At Hilton Foods, you’ll get the chance to work alongside our Procurement team, supporting projects that directly contribute to cost savings, supplier relationships and better ways of working.
This is a great opportunity for a student studying Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and understanding how businesses operate.
What will you be working on?
You’ll get involved in real procurement activities, including:
- Procure to Pay (P2P) Project - mapping and analysing the end-to-end cost of purchasing, from sourcing a supplier through to final payment and closing the purchase order.
- P2P Process Analysis – looking at different purchasing scenarios, including one-off suppliers, recurring purchases and more complex purchasing such as engineering spare parts.
- Cost & Efficiency Analysis – identifying the time, resources and costs involved at each stage of the process and opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Request for Quotations (RFQs) – supporting the procurement process for lower-spend purchases, coordinating quotes and helping analyse supplier responses.
- Quote Analysis – comparing pricing, reviewing supplier information and helping identify opportunities for better value.
- Spend Analysis – using data to understand where and how we're spending, helping identify trends and potential savings opportunities.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination – working with suppliers, Procurement and internal business teams to keep projects moving and ensure everyone is aligned.
- Procurement Projects – taking ownership of your own projects and contributing to wider Procurement initiatives.
Your P2P Project
As part of the internship, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a project focused on understanding the true cost of the Procure to Pay process.
You’ll look at the full purchasing journey, including:
Supplier sourcing → Supplier setup → Purchase Order creation → PO approval → Invoice receipting → Invoice approval → AP payment → PO closure
You’ll compare different types of purchasing activity and use your findings to:
- Identify the cost of the P2P process
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement
- Understand historical costs associated with the process
- Model potential future costs and savings from proposed improvements
This is a great opportunity to see how Procurement can influence more than just the purchase price and how improving processes can create real commercial value for a business.
