AngliSchools

Perth

AngliSchools is a growing network of Anglican schools across Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. We are committed to providing high-quality, inclusive and accessible education within caring school communities.

Guided by our values of Faith, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence, our Perth-based Head Office provides shared services and support to schools across our network.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee and coordinate accounts payable operations across AngliSchools.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead a geographically dispersed team of Accounts Payable officers across the States in which AngliSchools operates. You will be responsible for creating a connected and effective team culture while ensuring accounts payable services are delivered consistently across all locations.

This is more than a transactional processing role. You will work closely with school leaders, finance teams, employees and suppliers to resolve issues, strengthen processes and support schools as they transition to a centralised service model.

The position would suit an experienced accounts payable or transactional finance leader who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication, sound judgement and a practical, service-oriented approach.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Lead, support and develop a geographically dispersed team of Accounts Payable Officers

- Build a connected team culture with clear roles, expectations and consistent ways of working

- Oversee high-volume invoice processing, payment runs and employee reimbursements

- Ensure accounts payable activities are accurate, timely and compliant with policies, delegated authorities and internal controls

- Coordinate payment scheduling with treasury and other finance stakeholders

- Manage supplier reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly

- Provide clear and professional support to schools, Head Office teams, budget holders and suppliers

- Assist schools to adopt consistent accounts payable processes and systems

- Identify and implement improvements to workflows, controls and reporting

- Maintain accurate records and support audit and period-end requirements

- About you

You will be a confident and approachable leader who can build strong working relationships across different teams and locations. You communicate clearly, remain composed when resolving issues and understand how to balance strong financial controls with responsive customer service.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, finance administration or transactional finance leadership

- Experience leading, supervising and developing a team

- The ability to effectively lead and engage team members working across different locations

- Experience working within a high-volume, centralised or shared services workplace

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, payment workflows and internal controls

- The ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple sites or business units

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

- Confidence using financial management systems, digital approval workflows and Microsoft Excel

- A high level of integrity, discretion and attention to detail

- A Certificate IV or other qualification in accounting, finance, business administration or a related discipline

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Continia Expense Management or Document Capture, or a comparable large-scale ERP platform, will be highly regarded.

Experience within education, not-for-profit or another values-based organisation would also be advantageous.

Why join AngliSchools?

You will join a knowledgeable and supportive team at an important stage in the development of AngliSchools’ shared finance services.

The role offers:

- The opportunity to shape and strengthen a growing centralised accounts payable function

- A leadership role supporting schools and team members across Australia

- Meaningful work within a growing national school network

- A collaborative and values-driven workplace

- A modern Perth CBD office close to public transport

- Salary packaging and additional employee benefits

How to apply

Please submit your resume and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience and what you would bring to the role.

Applications close Friday 25 September 2026.
