The company head office is based in the Northern Melbourne suburb of Tullamarine, with easy access from Tullamarine, Calder and M80 ring road, as well as cycle paths. Our modern facility includes design offices as well as a large manufacturing space for hardware and prototype development and assembly.

About The Role:
This is a hands-on, fast paced role suited to those who are comfortable taking ownership of a problem, as well as increasing the robustness and reliability of the existing code base. The development work focuses on image signal processing, with opportunities to work across other software components of the system. Development is primarily in C++ and prior experience with C++ is essential.
The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of development tasks working closely with firmware,
electronics and mechanical engineering teams. You will see the evolution of key technologies through the full cycle of scoping, development, field testing and implementation stages. Confidence in dealing with customers on a technical level is highly desirable.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree with outstanding academic results in a relevant field such as computer science, mechatronics, electronics or computer systems engineering with strong skills in unmanaged programming environments.
- 3+ years experience in a relevant role
- Strong embedded C/C++ development skills, ideally including embedded Linux for ARM based processors
- Experience writing drivers for peripherals in the embedded environment
- Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s licence to travel to and participate in field testing
- Highly capable communicator, both written and verbal. The ability to understand other perspectives, articulate and advocate complex ideas and to work effectively in a small team.
- Ability to pass a set of technical screening tests as part of the review and selection process.
- Applicants must have full, permanent work rights in Australia
- Applicants must be able to obtain National Police and other related background and security clearances (e.g. ITAR) that apply to the role
- Ability to meet the requirements for a Baseline security clearance, at a minimum
Desirable
- Image signal processing theory or practical knowledge
- Autopilot software development experience
