Role Information - Director, Diplomas

Location: 750 Collins Street, Docklands

Employment Type: Full-Time

Duration: Ongoing

Remuneration: Up to $220,000 total remuneration package (inclusive of employer superannuation contributions), depending on skills and experience.

The Opportunity

Monash College is seeking an executive education leader to direct the strategic, operational, and academic performance of our Diplomas portfolio. Serving as a primary academic pathway to Monash University, this role requires a leader who balances modern pedagogical leadership with commercial rigor, operational accountability, and large-scale workforce management.

Positioned at the intersection of academic delivery and executive management, you will drive teaching excellence, oversee curriculum and assessment governance, optimise intensive trimester operations, and champion high-impact transition pathways into Monash University faculties. Key Responsibilities

- Executive & Strategic Leadership: Drive strategic direction, commercial performance, and operational efficiency while balancing academic governance, budgets,



and enterprise bargaining agreements.

- Academic & Pedagogical Governance: Lead quality assurance, curriculum design, assessment, and regulatory compliance across the diploma portfolio using data-informed teaching practices.

- Student Success & Operational Excellence: Optimise workforce planning, timetabling, and targeted at-risk support within an intensive trimester model to maximise student success and transition rates to Monash University.

- Stakeholder & Pathway Integration: Build strategic partnerships across Monash University faculties, offshore partners, and central leadership to align curricula and build seamless transition pathways.

- People & Transformational Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire a distributed academic workforce, driving a culture of operational accountability, innovation, and educational quality.

About You

This role is tailored for a professional education executive or higher education leader seeking direct ownership of an educational product and workforce with broader executive scope.

- Leadership Profile: Proven success leading complex higher education portfolios, transformational projects, or large academic operations within a university, pathway, or private higher education provider.

- Commercial & Operational Acumen: Demonstrated expertise managing substantial budgets, complex workforce allocations, EBA constraints, and operational efficiency within intensive delivery models.

- Pedagogical Authority: Deep understanding of contemporary higher education frameworks, curriculum governance, student success strategies, and quality assurance.

- Relationship Management: Ability to negotiate and influence across executive networks, university faculties, and international delivery partners.

- Qualifications: Postgraduate or Master's/Doctoral qualification in Education, Business, or a related discipline,



paired with a career identity defined by educational leadership, transformation, and business outcomes.
