Your opportunity

We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering with expertise in road transport engineering, road design and related civil infrastructure to join our Faculty of Science and Engineering.

This is a teaching-focused opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about preparing the next generation of professionals for the realities of the industry. You'll bring practical expertise into the classroom, helping students understand how roads and infrastructure are designed, delivered and integrated into the broader built environment.

You'll teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, contribute to contemporary curriculum development and help expand our engineering offering. There is also an opportunity to contribute to areas such as civil construction, design and coastal infrastructure, depending on your expertise.

- Delivering engaging teaching in civil and transport engineering

What you will bring





You're a civil engineer who understands what it takes to design and deliver infrastructure in the real world. You have particular expertise in roads, transport engineering and civil works, and you're excited by the opportunity to share that knowledge with future engineers.

You may already be teaching in higher education, or you may be an experienced industry professional ready for a new challenge. What matters most is your ability to translate your qualified knowledge into engaging learning experiences and your genuine passion for teaching.

Experience in coastal engineering or infrastructure would be highly valued, particularly where it intersects with the protection and resilience of transport infrastructure.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

- A Bachelor and PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Professional expertise in road design, transport engineering and civil works
- Experience teaching or supporting learning in civil engineering
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to student success and contemporary engineering education

Your opportunity is:

- Full-time, continuing (permanent)
- Located at either Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480.



Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities.
- Academic Level B: $114,482 - $135,392 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $158,408.
- Academic Level C: $139,568 - $160,473 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $187,753.
