- Trainee Utility Locator
We provide underground service locating, GPR scanning, non-destructive digging, survey pickup and subsurface investigations across Perth and regional Western Australia.
About the role
Whitech Utility Locates provides underground service locating, GPR scanning, non-destructive digging, survey pickup and subsurface investigations across Perth and regional Western Australia. We are looking for an experienced locator who can confidently complete underground service investigations using electromagnetic locating equipment and GPR.
Key responsibilities
- Locating underground utilities using EML and GPR
- Reviewing BYDA plans and available site information
- Marking services clearly and accurately onsite
- Assisting with potholing and service verification
- Recording field information and preparing marked-up plans
- Communicating with clients, supervisors and other contractors
- Completing work safely and to a high standard
- Working across metropolitan and regional locations when required
About you
- Previous utility locating experience is essential
- CertLoc accreditation or equivalent industry training will be highly regarded
- A strong work ethic and a reliable attitude
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work outdoors and complete physical tasks
- A current Australian driver's licence
- Construction White Card
- Willingness to complete occasional night shifts and regional work
- The ability to pass any required medical, drug and alcohol or site-access assessments
