Drifters is a busy pizza bar in the heart of Port Noarlunga, serving quality pizzas, shared plates and drinks to a strong local and summer tourist trade.
About the role
You'll be involved in preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard, working across pizza, prep and general kitchen sections. You'll prepare dough, ingredients and toppings, operate the commercial pizza oven following training, work efficiently during busy services, maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen, assist with stock rotation and preparation, and contribute positively to the culture and smooth operation of the kitchen. On the job training provided as necessary!
Key responsibilities
Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard
Working across pizza, prep and general kitchen sections
Preparing dough, ingredients and toppings
Operating the commercial pizza oven following training
Working efficiently during busy services
Maintaining a clean, organised and food-protected kitchen
Assisting with stock rotation, preparation and general kitchen duties
Contributing positively to the culture and smooth operation of the kitchen
About you
Has previous experience working as a chef in a busy kitchen
Is calm, organised and dependable under pressure
Takes pride in consistency, presentation and cleanliness
Communicates well and works collaboratively
Can work independently when required
Is available for a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts
Holds Australian working rights
Pizza or high-temperature oven experience would be highly regarded, but it isn't essential if you're an experienced chef willing to learn
A relevant cookery qualification is preferred, although solid practical kitchen experience will also be considered
