Job Responsibilities:
Assist the anaesthetist with the preparation and administration of anaesthesia in accordance with organisational policies and clinical guidelines.
Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment, medications, airway equipment, monitoring devices, and emergency equipment prior to procedures.
Conduct appropriate pre-operative checks and ensure the patient is adequately prepared for anaesthesia.
Assist with patient positioning, monitoring, airway management, and other anaesthetic procedures as required.
Continuously monitor patients during anaesthesia and promptly recognise and respond to changes in the patient's condition.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of anaesthetic care, observations, medications, and interventions.
Ensure medication safety, including appropriate checking, preparation, administration, labelling, and disposal.
Assist with the secure transfer and handover of patients to the recovery/PACU team following procedures.
Reuirements:
Current nursing registration and relevant qualifications.
Previous experience in anaesthetics, perioperative nursing, theatre nursing, or a similar acute-care setting.
Solid clinical assessment, communication, and organisational skills.
