Test Operator - Quality & Laboratory - Steel Industry

Play a key role in ensuring product quality, compliance and continuous improvement across a leading steel manufacturing setting.

We're looking for a hands-on Test Operator to join the laboratory and quality team, responsible for the daily testing of manufactured products and ensuring results are accurately recorded, reviewed and reported.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical laboratory environment and wants to build their experience across testing, quality assurance, technical support and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:
Collecting and preparing product samples from manufacturing operations
Conducting tensile and re-bend testing across a range of products
Reviewing test results and identifying non-conforming product
Accurately recording and reporting test results within required timeframes
Preparing data for quality and compliance reporting
Supporting investigations into non-conforming products
Providing technical support to manufacturing, R&D; and new product development
Supporting internal and external audits
Identifying opportunities to improve laboratory processes, efficiency and quality outcomes




Following laboratory procedures and the requirements of AS ISO/IEC 17025
Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance

What we're looking for:
Experience in a laboratory, testing, manufacturing or quality environment
Robust attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and data recording
An understanding of quality systems, testing procedures and compliance requirements
Robust communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
A proactive approach to identifying issues and driving continuous improvement
A robust commitment to workplace health and safety
