This is a full-time, in office Aquaculture Technician role based in northern Gold Coast, QLD. The Aquaculture Technician will assist with daily husbandry activities, including feeding, monitoring health and growth of stock, and maintaining tanks, lakes, and associated equipment.
Key responsibilities
Conduct water quality tests and record data
Support research trials
Contribute to breeding, stocking, and harvesting operations
Perform routine field work such as sampling and site inspections
Assist with farm maintenance to ensure optimal conditions for aquatic species
Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to follow standard operating procedures
Uphold safety guidelines
Support continuous improvement in production and environmental performance
About you
Relevant qualification in aquaculture, marine science, environmental science, biology,
or a related field is beneficial
Experience in seaweed culture is beneficial
Relevant qualification in diving or free diving is beneficial
Ability to follow safety procedures, work independently and in a team, and manage physically active tasks in varying weather conditions
Effective communication and basic data entry skills
Willingness to learn current techniques and technologies in aquaculture
