Tharavadu Indian Restaurant is seeking a qualified and experienced Full time Chef or Cook to join

our team in Corinda, QLD.

Tharavadu specialises in authentic Kerala and Indian cuisine prepared using traditional recipes,

spices and cooking methods.

Key responsibilities:

 Prepare and cook authentic Kerala, South Indian and other Indian dishes in accordance with

established recipes;

 Plan menus in consultation with management and develop seasonal or special menu items;

 Prepare ingredients, spice blends, marinades, curries, sauces, biryanis, breads and

accompaniments;

 Monitor food quality, portion sizes, taste and presentation throughout preparation and

service;

 Estimate food requirements and monitor stock levels, food costs and wastage;

 Order and inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and quality;

 accommodate customer dietary requirements and special requests;

 Coordinate food preparation and ensure orders are completed efficiently during busy service





periods;

 Maintain the cleanliness and protected operation of kitchen equipment and work areas;

 Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements;

and

 Assist with supervising, training and coordinating cooks and other kitchen staff, where

required.

Requirements:

 Relevant Commercial Cookery (Certificate III/IV/Diploma or above) qualification or

equivalent;

 At least two years of relevant commercial cooking experience;

 Experience preparing Indian cuisine, preferably Kerala or South Indian cuisine;

 Ability to work effectively in a busy commercial kitchen; and

 Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Pay: $79,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
