About the Role
As a Casual Retail Assistant, you'll be the face of our store — helping customers find what they need, keeping the shop floor looking great, and supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers on the shop floor and at the register
Provide friendly, knowledgeable advice on hardware, tools, and home improvement products
Process sales, returns, and exchanges using the POS system
Receive, price, and stock shelves; maintain a clean and well-organised store
Assist with loading/unloading stock and customer vehicles as needed
Respond to customer enquiries in person, by phone, or via email
Support other team members and management with general store duties
What We're Looking For
A positive, can-do attitude and solid customer service skills
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Reliable, punctual, and available for flexible shifts (including weekends)
Physically able to lift and move stock
Prior retail or hardware experience is a plus, but not essential — full training provided
A genuine interest in hardware, DIY, or trade products is highly regarded
