About the Role

Reporting into the Group Payroll Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of payroll while leading and developing a team of payroll professionals.

You’ll ensure payroll is delivered accurately, on time and in line with legislative requirements, while acting as an escalation point for more complex matters.

This role will suit an experienced payroll professional who enjoys leading from the front, brings strong technical knowledge and has a genuine passion for developing a capable and engaged team.

Duties




Lead end-to-end payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance
Coach and develop the payroll team, building capability and accountability
Act as an escalation point for complex payroll matters
Oversee payroll reconciliations, controls and compliance requirements
Drive process improvements and contribute to payroll system enhancements
Build robust relationships with key stakeholders across the business

Skills and Experience
Strong end-to-end payroll experience within a complex environment
Previous experience leading and developing a payroll team
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, tax and superannuation
Experience with payroll systems, reconciliations and process improvementConfident communicator with solid stakeholder management skills
Collaborative, hands-on and improvement-focused leadership style
