This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers in China and other international markets, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market research, analyzing supplier performance and pricing, and negotiating contracts and agreements that align with company standards.
The role involves close collaboration with internal teams in procurement, logistics, and operations to forecast demand, manage lead times, and resolve supply issues.
The Sourcing Partner will also build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers,
support recruitment of current sourcing partners as needed, and continuously optimise the global sourcing strategy.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills to compare suppliers, assess costs, evaluate risks, and support data-driven sourcing decisions.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners across different cultures and time zones.
Proficiency in contract negotiation to secure favorable terms, manage supplier agreements, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Experience in recruiting or onboarding recent suppliers and sourcing partners within global supply chains.
Solid understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and international trade practices.
Proven experience in sourcing or procurement, ideally involving China and other international markets.
Ability to work on-site in Melbourne, VIC, and coordinate effectively with global teams.
Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, business, logistics, or a related field is highly regarded.
Familiarity with import/export regulations, quality assurance standards, and cost optimisation strategies is beneficial.
