Signature Staff is recruiting a qualified Diesel Mechanic for our client, a long-established and highly respected company with a stable, long-serving team.
You will join a clean, well-organised workshop and maintain a fleet of coaches and commercial vehicles that are kept in excellent condition. The work is primarily focused on scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, rather than ongoing breakdown repairs.
For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to progress into a Leading Hand position.
Key Responsibilities
Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs when required
Conduct inspections and promptly rectify identified defects
Ensure vehicles remain protected, reliable and roadworthy
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
Keep the workshop clean, secure and organised
Key Criteria
Australian-recognised Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification
Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, coaches, buses or commercial fleets
Strong preventative maintenance and fault-finding skills
High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
Current Australian driver's licence
Heavy Rigid licence and refrigerant handling licence, or willingness to obtain
Reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working within a stable team
Interest in progressing into a Leading Hand position

$50-$55 per hour, depending on experience
