Early Years Practitioner (L1Z3) – Education QualifiedDepartment:Children and LearningService Area:Children's Family Help and Safeguarding – Early Years – Children's CentresRole Type:Temporary / Project & One-Off Workload PeakHours:27.5 hours per weekRole OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experiencedEarly Years Practitionerto join a Children's Centre team within the Early Years service.The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality early years provision, helping young children develop their learning, communication, confidence and social skills.
You will work closely with children, parents, carers and other professionals to promote positive outcomes and ensure children receive appropriate support during their early years.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality early years education, care and developmental support to young children.Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development.Support children's personal, social and emotional development.Encourage language, communication, physical development and early learning skills.Observe and assess children's progress and contribute to appropriate learning and development plans.Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive and welcoming environment for children.Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals within Children's Centres and Early Years services.Identify and respond appropriately to children's individual needs.Promote equality,



diversity and inclusion within the setting.Maintain accurate records in line with service requirements.Follow safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures at all times.Contribute to partnership working and early intervention approaches supporting children and families.Essential RequirementsRelevantEarly Years / Education qualification.Experience working with children in an early years, nursery, children's centre or similar setting.Good understanding of child development and theEarly Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Experience of planning and delivering age-appropriate activities.Solid communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and families.Desirable ExperienceExperience working within aChildren's Centreor Early Help environment.Experience supporting children and families who may require additional support.Knowledge of early intervention and family support services.Experience working alongside health, education, social care or other partner agencies.Working Pattern27.5 hours per week, supporting a temporaryproject / one-off workload peakwithin the Early Years and Children's Centre service.Ideal candidate:An Early Years professional who is passionate about supporting young children's development and enjoys working collaboratively with children, families and partner professionals.
