The VACCA team is committed to the organisation's visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.Our strength lies with our people.About The RoleSenior Case Managers will provide trauma-informed, holistic therapeutic case management for Aboriginal young people at the time of bail and until court hearings.
The Senior Case Manager will support young people with more complex needs and provide support to the team leader in onboarding and mentoring new staff.
Post bail support includes access to culturally strengthening care and support to meet the young people's immediate needs, including referrals to support social emotional wellbeing, health, education and employment pathways.
Specialised training will be provided.About YouDemonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purpose.Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.Understanding complex challenges contributing to young people's offending and ability to provide support which may mitigate these underlying factors.Experience in case management with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or vulnerable groups.Demonstrated ability to communicate in a explicit, culturally appropriate and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including staff, Government Departments, Victoria Police,
agency partners, young people and their families.DesirableRelevant degree or certifications in Case Management and/or Therapeutic Practices (e.g. Trauma-informed Care, Mental Health and AOD, Domestic Violence, Social Work, Community Development or other relevant areas).
Work experience in Youth Justice, Case Management, AOD, mental health or similar role.RequirementsValid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
