Northampton Swimming Club (NSC) in Northamptonshire is seeking a Lesson Coordinator to lead the Northampton Swimming Club Teaching Programme and coach within the Development Squad Programme.
QUALIFICATIONS
ASA Level 2 Award in Teaching Aquatics / Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification
First aid certificate
RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches
Full Clean Driving License
SKILLS REQUIRED
Sound organisational skills.
Sound administration skills
Ability to adapt to different situations
Ability to motivate swimmers.
Ability to communicate with effectiveness with Swimmers, Parents, Volunteers, Committee Members and Colleagues
Good time management is imperative
Ability to work unsociable and long hours to include mornings, evenings and weekends.
MAIN DUTIES
To work as and when required at a variety of different venues with swimmers to help them achieve the aims required following the clubs teaching and coaching plan in a productive and efficient manner.
To attend club competitions, camps, development galas, school's galas, teachers and coaches meetings, cover a wide range of squads and any other club activities as and when required.
Club administration including but not limited to - promotion of the club through school visits, leaflet drops, banking, club membership, meet entries and general club administration.
Teaching Programme administration – booking assessments, organising intensive courses, organising clinics, badge weeks, teacher cover, ordering kit and equipment, booking courses for staff, updating schemes of work, templates and lesson plans.
Deliver a plan for school swimming lessons to help create links and provide a pathway for recent swimmers to join Northampton Swimming Club.
Administration around development groups and squads coached including but not limited to: squad registers, up to date emergency contact information, squad news bulletins, test set results, time trial results and ensuring that any need for any specific swimmer is identified and acted upon.
To work with the teachers in the teaching programme to bring swimmers through into the development squads and to up-skill the teachers so that lessons are producing the swimmers with the skills needed within the coaching programme.
Abide by all policies and code of conducts as required by the club.
Ensure that you have copies of accident book available at all times.
Ensure that all qualifications are renewed and updated as and when required.
Be aware and understand the facility Emergency Action Plan and Normal Operating Procedures (EAP & NOP) for all pools used.
To follow and promote Swim England Wavepower and all club policies.

It is the practice of the Club to periodically examine job descriptions, update them and ensure that they relate to the job performed or to incorporate any proposed changes.
The Chairman of the Club in consultation with the post holder will conduct this procedure.
In these circumstances it will be the aim to reach agreement on reasonable changes, but if agreement is not possible the NSC Executive Committee reserves the right to make changes to your job description following consultation.
