The Opportunity
Start your career in mechanical engineering with MidCoast Council through an apprenticeship in our Water Operations team.
You'll gain hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade through TAFE.
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll develop practical skills in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in a water operations environment.
This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn and build a strong foundation for your future career.
What You'll Learn:




Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical systems and equipment across water and wastewater facilities.
Practical skills in inspecting, servicing, repairing and installing mechanical equipment.
An understanding of pumps, motors, valves and other equipment used in water operations.
How to safely complete planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance.
How to work effectively with experienced tradespeople while completing your apprenticeship training
We're Looking for Someone Who:
Has a genuine interest in mechanical engineering and water operations.
Is motivated to develop a career in the mechanical trade.
Demonstrates reliability, commitment and a willingness to learn.
Enjoys practical work and solving mechanical problems.
Works safely and cooperatively as part of a team.
Holds a P1 driver's licence or is working towards obtaining one.
