We are seeking a part time Maternal and Child Health Nurse to deliver culturally safe, holistic and community focussed care to Aboriginal children (0–6 years) an d families across the Albury Wodonga region.
n
Working two days per week (Mondays and Wednesdays) , You will provide warm, respectful and flexible care that empowers families to choose how they engage with the service. This includes delivering the Victorian Universal MCH Program, Key Ages & Stages (KAS) consultations, childhood immunisation support, and participating in community-based programs and activities.
n
A key focus of the role is strengthening positive early childhood outcomes, supporting parents during early parenting journeys, and offering an enhanced level of care to families who may be experiencing vulnerability or at higher risk of poor outcomes.
n
You will be part of a passionate Aboriginal-led team, working in partnership with families, community, and health services to ensure culturally responsive, high-quality support. This position also contributes to building a strong, sustainable Aboriginal MCH workforce within the region.

In this role, you will:
n
n
Provide culturally safe and responsive MCH services to Aboriginal families
n
Deliver flexible and community-based early childhood care,
including KAS consultations and home visiting programs to families with newborns
n
Conduct health surveillance and screening for children aged 0–6
n
Support and coordinate immunisation services for families
n
Engage in culturally led programs and family-focused activities and support parenting through education, counselling and group sessions
n
Promote early intervention and health promotion
n
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen Aboriginal maternal and child health services
n

What You will Bring:
n
n
Current registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria as RN (Div1) and Midwife with additional qualifications in Maternal and Child Health Nursing
n
Accreditation as a nurse immuniser (or willingness to complete the nurse immuniser course within 6 months of commencement)
n
Understanding of current health and social impacts relevant to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities
n
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
n
Current driver's licence and clearances (WWCC, Police Check)
n
