Commercial Wire Design is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Metal Work Labourer to join our team at our workshop in Brendale.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the metal fabrication industry. You'll work alongside our experienced fabricators and welders, assisting with product manufacturing and general workshop tasks.
n
No previous experience is necessary — we're looking for the right attitude, work ethic and fitness.
n
The Role
n
You will assist our fabrication team with a range of daily workshop duties, including:
n
n
Lifting and moving metal sheets, shelves, wire frames and equipment
n
Preparing materials by deburring, grinding, sanding and cleaning metal parts
n
Assisting tradespeople with fabrication and welding tasks
n
Holding materials in place for tack welding
n
Handing tools and materials to tradespeople
n
Keeping the workshop clean and organised
n
Operating basic machinery such as cut-off saws and pillar drills under supervision
n
General labouring and workshop duties
n

What We're Looking For

Reliable and punctual
n
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
n
Physically fit and capable of continuous manual handling
n




Comfortable standing and working for extended periods
n
Able to follow instructions and work safely
n
Reliable transport
n
Willingness to learn new skills
n
Comfortable wearing mandatory PPE, including steel-cap boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
n
n
No experience is required. –The right applicant will receive on-the-job training in welding and metal fabrication, with the potential opportunity to work towards a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade for the right person.
n
