About the Role
n
The Community Education Project Officer (CEPO) coordinates the delivery of Community Education and awareness programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members for the FVPLS unit. This is a broad role and will suit a person interested in diverse and challenging work within a dynamic unit.
n
The position is responsible for a range of activities that facilitate the creation, implementation and delivery of legal awareness and wellbeing education around family violence and sexual assault.
n
The project officer will work with the legal team to co-ordinate the delivery of Community Legal Education (CLE). The Project Officer will work towards developing early intervention resources and activities and co-ordinate their delivery across the
n
Essential skills/experiences
n
To be successful in this role, you will:
n
n
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
n
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in education or community services or social science and experience in delivering education programs to a wide range of stakeholders.
n
Strong administrative and organisational skills, including proven skills in research, analysis, planning and time management.
n
Ability to develop and maintain productive,
effective working relationships withstakeholders.
n
Excellent communication skills to include both written and verbal with
experiencerepresenting
an organisation in a variety of forums e.g. community and Government.
n
Competent and experienced using Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, and Outlook, and the ability to setup audio visual equipment.
n
Willingness and ability to travel within the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Southwest regions.
n
n
And desirably has:
n
n
Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and OccupationalHealth & Safety principles.

Ability to read and understand legal research, interpret it and present it to acommunity audience.
n
Ability to read and understand mental health, wellness and healing research and present it to a community audience.
n
