About the role
n
Our client, one of the Federal Government departments, is seeking an experienced Data Centre Field Infrastructure Engineer to join a major infrastructure program supporting critical ICT services.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‐on infrastructure skilled with strong experience across data centre environments, network infrastructure, server platforms, facilities design, and operational support.
n
You will play a key role in ensuring infrastructure environments remain secure, reliable, scalable and fit for future growth.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design, implement and maintain data centre and ICT infrastructure solutions.
n
Provide technical leadership and expert advice to project teams and stakeholders.
n
Lead infrastructure changes, upgrades and deployment activities.
n
Manage and coordinate data centre operations, including rack allocation, capacity planning, power utilisation and cabling standards.
n
Develop infrastructure architecture, operational designs, standards and procedures.
n
Support project delivery by working closely with project managers and technical teams.
n
Lead incident response activities, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical issues.
n
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, performance and operational efficiency.
n
Review and approve technical changes and infrastructure implementations.
n
Maintain infrastructure roadmaps and lifecycle management plans.
n
Produce high-quality technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
n




Mentor and support team members where required.
n

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience in:

Data centre design, operations and infrastructure management.
n
Enterprise server, network and cloud infrastructure environments.
n
Infrastructure architecture and systems design.
n
Availability, incident, problem and change management.
n
Infrastructure installation, migration and decommissioning activities.
n
Technical troubleshooting within complex ICT environments.
n
Developing technical standards, procedures and documentation.
n
Delivering infrastructure projects within structured governance frameworks.
n
Working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Experience delivering data centre or large-scale ICT infrastructure projects.
n
Experience coordinating technical resources and project activities.
n
Federal Government or other large enterprise environment experience.
n
Understanding of infrastructure lifecycle planning and capacity management.
n
n
Clearance Requirement
n
Current NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.
n
