Data Analyst - Demand Rostering

Our client is a large, multi-site hospitality group operating pubs and venues across Australia.
They're investing in a Demand Rostering capability to bring more accuracy and rigour to workforce forecasting, and they need a hands‐on Data Analyst to help build and run it.
This isn't a dashboard‐maintenance role.
You'll sit close to the operational teams, get exposure to Microsoft Fabric on a live project, and have real input into how the reporting and data models evolve as the capability matures.
What you'll be doing
Supporting the rollout of a Demand Rostering capability across pubs and venues nationally, getting deep into the operational drivers behind workforce demand
Owning and evolving the Power BI reporting suite: reports, semantic models, measures and business logic
Investigating discrepancies between forecasts, actuals and workforce requirements, tracing issues back through source data and business rules
Working inside Microsoft Fabric on data ingestion, transformation and notebook-based workflows




Building out data quality checks and following anomalies through to resolution with the right internal and external owners
Translating operational feedback into transparent technical and analytical requirements
Acting as the go‐to for data issues, explaining findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Must have
Strong SQL skills and experience with large or complex datasets
Proven experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, semantic models and measures
Solid understanding of data modelling, ingestion and transformation concepts
A structured, investigative approach, comfortable tracing issues beyond the report layer
Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or similar, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern data platform
Fabric notebooks, Python or PySpark exposure
Experience supporting production data pipelines
Background in hospitality, retail or other multi-site operational environments
Exposure to workforce planning, demand forecasting or rostering
