How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
To carry out assignments associated with assembly and test of launch vehicle parts, components, and interfaces for electronic and mechanical systems
Set up and operate test equipment, including multi-meters, current probes and break out boxes in lab and clean room environments
Assist in testing hardware using written procedures and or work instructions
Assist in the preparation of technical reports as required
Evaluate and understand all engineering (CAD) drawings, verifying dimensions and ensure implementation according to specifications
Ensure all parts are properly aligned and fitted in accordance with specifications
Ensure all work complies with company procedures, engineering requirements and regulatory obligations
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost
Maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Planning, Quality and Manufacturing teams
Ability to accommodate off-hours work, as necessary, during certain build phases
Other duties as requested by Management
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
2+ years of experience in a high reliability and quality manufacturing operating environment, ideally within the space / aerospace industry or aviation industry
Extensive knowledge of mechanical, fluids, avionics and electrical systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Industry experience preferred
The ability to work independently and part of teams.
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering, Planning and Manufacturing
Ability to rapidly adapt to changes in direction while working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
Experience with computer-aided design software is desirable
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Experience with configuration management, non-conformance reporting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
