Your Role
n
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educator for the position of School Based First Nations Education Liaison Officer to join the team at Holy Spirit College, Mackay. This is a term time continuing position for 30hpw, for commencement in Term 4, **** (6th October ****).
n
The School Based First Nations Education Liaison Officer will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous Education. In doing so,
advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families, communities, teachers and college.
n
Selection Criteria
n
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:
n
n
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
n
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.
n
n

Mandatory Requirements

A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act **** (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
