About the Job

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
n
n
Planning and managing civil engineering aspects of residential construction projects.
n
Preparing specifications and technical documentation.
n
Conducting site inspections and evaluating soil, drainage and foundation conditions.
n
Coordinating engineering requirements with architects, surveyors, builders and subcontractors.
n
Ensuring construction works comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), local council requirements and relevant legislation.
n
Monitoring construction progress and providing technical guidance during project delivery.
n
Reviewing engineering calculations, structural reports and construction methodologies.
n
Assisting with cost estimates, project scheduling and resource planning.
n
Identifying engineering risks and implementing practical solutions.
n
Liaising with regulatory authorities and consultants to obtain required approvals.
n
Preparing project reports, engineering documentation and compliance records.
n




Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality, safety and efficiency.
n

Essential Selection Criteria
n
Applicants must have:
n
n
A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
n
At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Civil Engineer.
n
Robust knowledge of Australian engineering principles, construction practices and relevant legislation.
n
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
n
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
n

Desirable
n
n
Experience in residential housing developments.
n
Knowledge of Victorian planning and building requirements.
n
Experience using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or similar.
n
Current Australian driver's license.
