Ashlee Pty Ltd trading as WESTCOAST BULK HAULAGE is requiring 2x truck drivers for heavy motor vehicle to transport Quarry products safely and efficiently across short distances.
The role involves securing load, maintaining accurate logbooks/ time sheets, checking vehicle safety and complying with all road transport laws and company safety guidelines.
Responsibilities Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to assigned destinations.
Comply with all traffic laws and WAHVO regulations.
Monitor vehicle performance and report any mechanical faults to management.
Manage fatigue by following required rest breaks in accordance with legal guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driving hours, and fuel usage.
Ensure the truck and trailer are clean and meet company standards.
Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients during deliveries.
Uphold workplace health and safety protocols during all operations.
Main tasks Drive heavy vehicle (prime mover and trailer) to transport quarry products.
Supervise the loading process to ensure correct weight distribution.
Secure load using tarpaulin.
Perform pre-departure checks on tyres, brakes, oil levels and lights.
Plan routes and check road conditions to avoid traffic delays.
Be compliant with inductions (through on the job training)
to enable onsite deliveries.
Obtain signatures and delivery confirmations from receivers.
Refuel the vehicle and check fluid levels during shifts.
Communicate with dispatch office regarding route changes or delivery issues.
Complete daily work diaries and submit delivery documents.
Relevant qualifications Appropriate current class of Australian heavy vehicle driver's licence (such as HC Heavy Combination or MC Multi-Combination).
White or Blue card.
Fatigue management certificate within the last 3 years.
Current medical certificate Relevant skills Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely in various traffic and weather conditions.
Understanding of national load restraint guidelines and vehicle weight limits.
Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools.
Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting.
Transparent communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and site workers.
Time management skills to meet specific delivery schedules.
Physical ability to handle long periods of driving and the manual work required on some maintenance issues.
Attention to detail for completing compliance logbook/ timesheets and delivery paperwork.
Ability to operate "Docketbook" app on phone.
