South Australian Country Fire Service Job reference: ****** Location: **** - KESWICK Job status: Ongoing Eligibility: Open to Everyone Primary Purpose of Role: • Contribute to the development, adoption, maintenance, and review of Bushfire Management Area Plans (BMAPs) and associated systems in SA.
• Advise and support Bushfire Management Committees (BMCs) on bushfire risk assessment methodologies to enable fit-for-purpose selection of mitigation approaches.
• Contribute to the effective induction of BMC members.
• Support and take direction from the Strategic Risk and Engagement Lead on all engagement activities and exercises that relates to BMCs and BMAPs.
• Provide guidance and support to chairpersons and executive officers of BMCs in the preparation and implementation of BMAPs.
• Facilitate timely and comprehensive reporting on the implementation of the BMAPs to the BMC and the State Bushfire Coordination Committee (SBCC).
• Contribute to the provision of advice to the BMCs and stakeholders on bushfire management responsibilities defined in the Fire and Emergency Services Act, ****, other relevant legislation, and any governing SBCC policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and review the development of information material, training, and education of staff, key stakeholders, and the community regarding bushfire management planning (as defined in Part 4, Division 7A of the Fire and Emergency Services Act ****.
• Represent CFS Bushfire Manage Planning Unit and CFS Community,



Risk and Resilience Directorate on related State and Local Government committees and working parties regarding bushfire management planning.
• Contribute to project management and policy development services for the CFS Community Risk and Resilience Directorate.
• Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined 'operational' on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community.
Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts.
