Business Overview Our venue partner, Zaffi Sydney, is a contemporary Lebanese and Middle Eastern restaurant, bar and events venue located in Sydney CBD.
Zaffi combines modern Lebanese cuisine, premium hospitality and a vibrant dining experience, offering lunch, dinner, private events and late-night supper-club experiences.
The venue is known for its flavour-driven Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes, including mezze, seafood, slow-roasted lamb and sharing-style menus.
Zaffi also caters to corporate functions, private celebrations and group dining, providing a dynamic and professional hospitality environment.
Zaffi Sydney is seeking skilled and passionate Chefs and Cooks to join its kitchen team.
These are hands-on kitchen roles focused on the preparation and cooking of a diverse range of Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes, blending time-honoured cooking traditions with contemporary flair.
Working under the direction of the Senior Chef and other senior kitchen staff, Chefs and Cooks will follow established recipes and preparation methods, maintain consistency, and ensure every dish reflects Zaffi's high standards of quality, presentation and taste.
The roles are suited to kitchen professionals who are enthusiastic about Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Location: Little Hunter St, Sydney NSW ****, Australia Salary: $78,000 – $83,000 AUD per annum Key Responsibilities Chefs : Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and service standards.
Ensure all dishes meet high standards of quality, consistency, taste, and presentation.
Participate in menu planning and development,
including introducing new dishes and utilising seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations (including HACCP).
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage of food to minimise wastage and maintain cost control.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
Cooks : Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment to produce high-quality meals.
Portion and prepare ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and accompaniments.
Ensure all dishes meet required taste, texture, and presentation standards before service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
Store food properly, rotate stock, and monitor freshness to minimise wastage.
Assist with menu preparations, including mise en place and daily food production.
Follow kitchen procedures and support smooth service during busy periods.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Prepare, season, cook, and present a variety of Mediterranean dishes according to established recipes and menu standards.
Skills Experience Required : Minimum 1–3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
Ability to prepare a variety of dishes with precision and attention to detail.
Solid organisational skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skill
