About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA)
The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children through effective regulation, compliance, quality assessment and continuous improvement across the early childhood sector. VECRA plays a critical system management role, providing guidance, oversight and assurance to the sector while supporting high-quality early childhood education outcomes for Victorian children and families.
About the Branch
The Governance and Corporate Support Branch lead the provision of quality corporate support services and functions (including human resources and occupation health and safety, risk and audit, finance, fleet, accommodation and organisational strategic projects) which enable successful operation of VECRA. In addition, the Governance and Corporate Support Branch is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance and audit obligations required of a statutory authority.
About the Team
The Governance and Corporate Support team, within the Governance and Corporate Support Branch, is responsible for delivering a broad remit spanning procurement, fleet and accommodation, organisational governance and secretariat support, strategic and business planning, audit and risk, and organisational strategic projects, such as the Annual Report.
The team works closely with leaders across VECRA and the Department of Education providing an important role in connecting VECRA to the broader government environment while continuing to build the systems, processes and practices needed for an effective and mature organisation.
About the Role
The Manager Governance and Corporate Support role leads a small team who provides the governance, planning and operational corporate service foundations that support VECRA to operate effectively as a recent statutory authority. This role is a trusted advisor to senior leaders across a broad portfolio, bringing together different perspectives across VECRA to identify risks, solve problems and progress novel, BAU and complex organisational priorities across its broad remit. This role provides an opportunity to make a tangible impact in a recent and still evolving organisation, designing and improving foundational governance and corporate support services (audit, risk, procurement, fleet, accommodation, reporting and strategic and organisation projects) that help shape the way VECRA operates.

You will be curious and improvement-focused, with the initiative to identify what could work better and the ability to turn ideas into practical outcomes. You will build strong relationships, work effectively across teams and be someone senior leaders can rely on to take ownership and get things done.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience: Experience in a government (or similar) corporate service area in audit, risk, project management and/or organisational governance
Qualifications: A degree or relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field
Essential: A valid Working with Children Check
